Movie Metaphors:  You know the opening shots of Joe versus the Volcano?  The endless slogging through a gray wasteland toward an endless day job where you never see the light of day?  The gray flourescent lighting that is so punishing you really feel as if you might have a brain cloud?  You might even wish you had a brain cloud!  It would be more interesting, at least, than the daily drudgery of office life… 
I’ll forgive you if you- unlike me- did not watch this crazy movie on a regular basis growing up; but, suffice it to say, it perfectly captures the petty misery of office life.  And, here at the end of my own office life, the light at the end of the tunnel in sight… each moment feels like a lifetime.  Each day an eternity.
